Background

What began as a request to validate a redesigned search experience quickly became something much larger. While the Libraries had recently refreshed both their search page and overall website, our research revealed that search was not the primary source of user frustration. Instead, we uncovered two major WCAG violations, numerous false affordances, and recurring usability issues that left users confused about where to click, what actions were possible, and how to complete basic tasks.
